New features, fixes and improvements to CrateDigVinyl, newest first.
Find a record store by name
Type / and the start of its name in the search box, for example /mostly, to go straight to it.
Capitals, accents and a leading "The" don't matter.
Searches without the / work just as before.
Tidied up the listings cards and other fixes
The buttons on each store card now all look the same, and + Review sits next to Digger's Notes.
Privacy policy translated into all supported languages
Our Privacy Policy is now available in all 8 languages CrateDigVinyl supports.
More room on bigger screens
On laptops and desktop monitors, listings and pages now use a wider column, so you can see more at a glance.
Store photos are bigger on desktop and shown whole, not cropped.
Phones and tablets look just as they did.
CrateDigVinyl in your language
The app is now fully translated into English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Japanese. Portuguese and Japanese are new.
Choose your language from the picker at the bottom of the page.
Dates and numbers are written the way they are in your language.
Distances show in miles or kilometres depending on your region, and the search radius matches.
Smarter, more private usage stats
We now collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (like which areas people search) to help us improve CrateDigVinyl — only after you accept cookies, and never when your browser sends "Do Not Track".
No personal details, IP address or account link are ever collected.
Updated our Privacy Policy with the full details.
See the status of your reports
Reports you submit about a listing now show their status — pending, reviewed, kept or removed — right in your Account → Activity tab.
Stores you suggest get the same treatment, so you can see when we've added one, or couldn't this time.
Report a listing, plus clearer card buttons
Added a flag button to store cards so you can tell us a store has closed, is wrong, or isn't actually a record shop.
Added helpful tooltips to the icons on each store card, so it's clear what each one does.
Shared Vinyl Crawls open straight to the list
Opening a shared Vinyl Crawl link now takes you straight to the stores on that crawl, instead of the homepage.
Moved the "back to top" shortcut next to the logo, so it's easier to reach.
Refreshed the "New Dig" button icon.
Save and share your Vinyl Crawls
Save a Vinyl Crawl to your account, rename it, and find it again under My Crawls.
Share a crawl with a link so friends can view or save the same list of stores.
Map directions now show store names instead of generic pins.
Fixed broken share links, new share icon
Fixed an issue where some shared store links failed to open.
Store links are now cleaner and shorter.
Replaced share buttons across the app with a single, consistent share icon.
Your reviews, photos and profile
Write your own review of a shop: a star rating, the genres you dug through, up to 400 characters and up to five photos.
Store cards now show a photo gallery from the community, with a full-screen viewer.
Reply to other diggers' reviews, translate any review into your own language, and edit or delete your own any time.
Personalise your profile with an emoji or photo avatar, a Discogs username and your location.
Record shops in Taiwan
Added shops across Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung and Keelung.
Added four Paris shops we were missing, including three from the Marché aux Puces.
CrateDigVinyl in French
The whole app now speaks French, and switches automatically if your browser is set to French.
Opening hours, store cards and search results all translate, not just the menus.
France added, and closed shops spotted automatically
Nearly 1,000 French record shops joined the 985 already listed in the UK.
Search by French postcode or place name.
Shops that have permanently closed are now detected and removed automatically, and come back if they reopen.
The Reviews section on store cards is now called Digger's Notes.
Cleaner, more accurate listings
Removed around 230 listings that turned out not to be record shops — carpet and signage firms, hi-fi dealers, music schools and instrument shops.
Restored 22 Oxfam Music branches that genuinely do sell vinyl.
Phone numbers are now tap-to-call, and there's a quick 'back to top' shortcut on results.
A fresh look and smarter location search
Refreshed the light and dark themes for better contrast and readability.
The location box now suggests places as you type.
Fixed scrolling on the results and about pages.
Much faster searches, better store cards
Searches now return in under a second, down from five to ten.
Added a Get Directions button and the full week's opening hours to every store card.
Better support for notched iPhones, and animations now respect your reduced-motion setting.
